I like shopping on various e-commerce sites in USA and UK. The prices for clothes, electronics are really good.I was just wondering how to reduce shipping costs as there's no point to get shipped one single item and pay for it 20 bucks or so.Has anyone any advice? Thanks

If its a small shop you can try emailing and asking for the cheapest possible postage, and tell them you realise this will mean longer delivery times.

Many stick to fast reliable ones so they do not get a bad name. Some companies, e.g. dvdpacific, will offer varying postage. They used to have about 4 options and I once picked the cheapest/slowest and got my item about 4-6 months later! it did not bother me as I was in no rush.

Once I emailed a UK ebay seller who only listed first class UK delivery, I ended up getting it for less than his UK price as he sent it economy here.

Some people will use reshippers, e.g. there was a woman in the US who would buy your items online and send them to you, all repackaged in 1 box, she would even go shopping in local shops for you.

You have to bear in mind lots of things when ordering to determine what is truly good value. e.g. will you be caught for customs, if it breaks how do you get a warranty sorted out.

Hi,thanks for reply. Usually I buy the cloths and the books as the variety is amazing. You really don't need to worry about warranty with such items. My concern is the shipping cost and when it comes to customs,I only buy items with 'small value'-I'm not interested for custom boys. When shipping directly from the buyer they charge you a fortune and in many cases it's not worth buying anything, even from UK.

With amazon.co.uk you get free shipping above £25, so even though some items might seem a little expensive at say £22 you might be able to get a cheap DVD on offer for £3 to bring you over the limit and get free postage on both. Some other sites might have similar offers.

Unless it is cheap sites in general you are looking for. In which case you can ask for specific things on bargain requests here

One cheap site with free shipping is www.dealextreme.com
    these below are similar too,
    www.focalprice.com
    www.buyincoins.com

These all have free delivery, I don't know how they can make a profit on some items!

    Right,got it.
i have found one US company which does shipping, basically you need to get your shopping delivered to their warehouse and then get it sent to Ireland or so.
The name is MyUs,the link is here:http://www.myus.com/en/landing?aid=1002325
They've good shipping rates and the parcels can be consolidated.
