The Fiat 1200 is a very nice example of what I think is a rare car!!
However one can see hints of the MGB in it..I have to wonder was the MGB designers looking at it when they were working on the "b" Hmm lets go lower and round out / bulge out the sides, recess the headlamps, make the grill smaller.. oh we like the tail lamps too... :) Each angle you look at it one can see the MGB and to think the MGB came out in 1962!!

Is that Carina an import? I hav'nt seen one of those in a while now.
I bought one around 78 or 79. Great car except for the pesky tinworm!

Those mirrors would indidcate that it is a jap import,I think that was for sale recently.

This IP1 car is a 1908 Hillman 500 according to Cartell.
IP1 was always on a motorcycle for as long as I can remember, although it was originally on a car, it was also registered with Shannon as an 1901 motorcycle up until recently, I checked on Cartell a couple of months ago.
So there must still exist a system to transfer old style registrations, I wonder what the criteria is:confused:

I was also intrigued to see that reg no.

I recall reading somewhere that in the early days of vehicle registration in Ireland, a number could be allotted to a car AND a motorcycle (or a heavy goods vehicle).

So in theory there could be two 'IP-1's' out there!:)

There are lots more photos of this event (which was apparently a part of the Clondalkin Village Festival 2012) on Flickr, all tagged accordingly. I would have loved to have been there myself, looks like a great small show!
