Whats the best money you ever spent on gear?.....now boys!...Ha.

Can be anything anything from an instrument to a plectrum.....Not necessarily the cheapest deal, but what makes life easy or better for the money.Or something you couldn't do with out now,but was worth the cash.

    In descending order of price

    Tyler Burning Water

    Axe Fx Ultra

V Pick Small Pointed and Stiletto

    Korg Pitchblack
Dunlop Big Stubby 1mm, gone through a ton of picks including the v picks and wasn't comfortable with any others.
Lava cables and George L's, the difference decent cables make is huge.

Once I got a Timmy, it sorted everything. It validated my guitar and amp choices so I'm now content with those, and I added a few pedals around it for colour. Job done.

    For now. ;)

Goodall acoustic guitar: play it almost every day - best steel-string I've ever played

Neve 5432 8 channel console: everything sounds great after going through this

Fender Bass VI: cool twangy FX and it works as a real bass too

Prism Orpheus: everything sounds great after going through this too

    tech21 bass compactor
ashdown abm head and cabs, very early ones, absolutely bulletproof, never ever once let me down
    korg tuner

I'd probably go for the Looper I bought. I think anyone playing guitar for longer than 2 years should be using one. It really helps with your timing and you really start learning the how to nail a part cleanly. It also helps a tonne with creativity too because you can get into harmonies and playing over chords in ways you can't really do when playing on your own. It's a great way to make practicing a little more fun too.

I picked up upper end Takemine a cupla years ago on ebay for about 160 sterling.built like a tank, never let me down yet,and sounds really lovely. gig with it 1-3 times a week now.it was a bit older too, which what I was looking for. I had it paid for in a weekend.

On a lesser note I find these quite handy, for different reasons, female and male.

    http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?hl=en&q=jack+to+xlr+cables&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=5619009455888741874&sa=X&ei=5iDyT5PvEsb-8gOTxPyeDQ&ved=0CIUBEPMCMAA

Nobody i play with ever has them,so I feel like a legend when they're needed,ha.

Tuner as well,of any sorts,as long as some man has one.

Have a potxt here and don't like the sims at all compared to it.

hamnmustard i've being eyeing up your tc rig for a while now but alas the bobs are not ther to purchase, stingray is the endgame i am in the ibanez phase at the mo:p

Common ground seems to be a tuner.

And particularly the Korg Pitch black, its in at least 3 posts..
Been looking for a floor tuner, would this be the one to get?

Gretsch Anniversary - I got it when the market was at its lowest and it's just a joy to play.

Black Arts Toneworks Pharaoh Fuzz - a wonderful fuzz pedal that covers so much ground, so many of the sounds are useable.

Jazz III picks - can't live without them.

Also, a random $5 strap that I got on Music123 about 6 years ago - it has a locking system that clips on to standard strap buttons, keeping your guitar nice and safe without any modification required.

Definitely. Most accurate tuner I've used, apart from a Peterson Strobe tuner but those things cost almost 3 times the price. The display is really clear too, particularly in the dodgy dark stage light.

One (possible) issue with the Pitchblack is that there is only one out on it so you can't use it always on or as a splitter but the big bright and clear display is the clincher for me and it's accurate +/- 1 Cent compared to say the TU2 which is +/- 3 cent and the TU which +/-1 cent, it's also True Bypass if that sorta thing floats your boat.

CMATMODS Signa Drive overdrive pedal was only €100 or so. Most natural sounding dirt box yet.

went from an american strat to an ibanez 777vbk.

Best investment i ever made in my guitar playing.

Until the neck was snapped by some complete retard.

€100 for a Signa Drive? Well played Sir!

Are you using the LED clipping side (it'll be the louder side of the switch)? I'm pretty much swearing by LED clipping for more natural sounding Muffs and Rats. Must put together a TS with LEDs for myself soon.

Line 6 Variax 700 - for the sheer variety of great guitar models (and when you tweak them in workbench they can be spectacular). Also has one of the best necks i've ever played :)

Yep, pretty cheap. I bought one early last year when the $$$ was down on it's knees. €115 including shipping is still a great price. I have my eye on the Deluxe version for around €160, with a full eq and boost footswitch button.

And Zafo, i am using the middle toggle setting which is louder. I think the toggle down, is tubescreamer type.

best money I ever spent was to go on a guitar making course.

I've just finished #90. I've sold a lot, and I have all the instruments that I want right now.....

4 basses, tenor acoustic, mandolin, guitar bodied bouzouki, 2 electric guitars, two acoustic guitar a 12 string, an archtop, an electric mandolin and a 6 string banjo.

    and 2 Variax 300s that I bought......

Same. Got one in the music maker sale reduced from something like €1,400 to €200. It's not a pretty guitar but the neck is great and the modelled sounds are, for the most part, really good. I havent got around to getting the workbench for it yet though.

It's all Tubescreamer based but if it's the louder setting I'd say it's the LED clipping. Surprised it's taken so long for builders to cop on to what Marshall did with the Guv'nor a long time ago..

Boss tu tuner, 12 years old and still going strong.
    Musicman basses
    My van.

    €450 on a CIJ Jazzmaster

    €200 Crafter 12 string

    €200 Valencia nylon

not much (can't remember) on a boss blues driver

not much (can't remember) on a zoom ultra fuzz

£200 old pounds on a cheapo crafter acoustic to lug around Europe which got me more women than I care to remember. I owe it nothing!

Bought an 80's Tokai superstrat off my uncle years ago for half nothing.
Ibanez RG450 I think, cheap guitar but I still prefer it to my Jem. Plays beautifully.

My EQ pedal. The single most important thing after your guitar and amp. I stick it in my fx loop, and use the guitar volume/tone knobs for distortion. If you dont have a eq pedal already then do your self a favour and get one immediatly.

    Fender Gdec 3.
A great little amp that can be picked up very cheap these days.
Can record to PC. Uses Fender Fuse software. Patch sharing. SD card for playing to backing tracks. Great practice tool for home use.

BOSE L1 PA System. Speaking as a one man band with a dodgy back it has given me a new lease of life and all but done away with my fear of unloading the gear from the van
