    Hi All,

    Ok i need help,asap.

I recently bought a 2006 Passat 2.0 TDI SE Comfortline. I found out after that the dope I bought it off (im probably the bigger eejit for buying it) had cut the springs and welded them to the shocks. I think its just the front springs but not too sure. I dont know much bout cars so I need help.

The issue is Im looking to replace the springs, I was leaning towards lowering springs but it looks like I need to replace the shocks aswel so i think I might be better getting a set of coilovers (im not worried about ride quality, I just want to get the NCT)

Ive seen a couple of sets on ebay but Im not sure if coilovers include the shocks??? Heres a link to the coilivers i might get if they fit (it says in the description that there is rear shocks but nothing about front shocks, do front coilovers come with the shocks as standard???)

Il post a pic of the car if someone helps :D

At 200Euro as a price id be steering well clear of coilovers.

If you search this section for coilover and passat
    http://www.boards.ie/search/?subforums=1&q=passat+coilovers
    http://www.boards.ie/search/?subforums=1&q=jom+coilovers

Why stay clear? All budget coilovers are virtually the same ie- ta technix, jom, fk streets, rokkor etc etc.

I have had experience with most cheap branded coilovers, For that money get the JOMs, Avoid racelands, For and extra bit of cash you can get a decent set up, such as weitec or koni, which are low to middle of the road coilovers, Unless your want to slam your car get the more expensive ones, I have had KW's they are a dream to drive on.

Raceland's aren't manufactured anymore, and they are all the same anyway, just branded differently and colours etc.
