Do any posters have any further information regarding this (taken from citizens info website Budget 2012)

    Jobseeker’s Benefit and Allowance
Where a Jobseeker's Benefit recipient is working for part of a week, the payment entitlement will be based on a 5-day week rather than a 6-day week. This means that for each day that a person is unemployed, one-fifth of the normal rate of Jobseeker's Benefit is payable and if they get part-time work for 2 days, they will get three-fifths of the normal Jobseeker's Benefit for that week. (July 2012)
    Thanks

How it works is that an officer calculates how many days are payable in a given week using the current rules. Where there are 2 payable days or more, the customer is paid one day less than the calculated amount, paid at n/5 of the weekly rate, (n=one day less than the payable no of days). Where there is only one payable day in the week, the customer will not receive any payment for the week, nor will their total number of days paid increment.

So, where a customer WOULD have received 3/6 of payment, they will now receive 2/5 while still incrementing 3 days.

I think the crossover date is 26th July, so the first week of payment that will be affected will be week-ending 1/8/12.
