North bound 7 am July 2 , north of Exit 13 ( ashford / rathnew) cyclist on hybrid on the motorway, approaching the merge lane from exit 13.

Cyclist would have had to negotiate traffic merging onto the motor way at this exit.

Garda car a few cars back in my strong of traffic, I realy hope the cyclist got a telling off.

Seems to be something that's on the up. My guess is that it's people new to cycling who see a motorway as a nice direct route and "ah sure it's just a short hop, no big deal".
Saw the Gardai after pulling over an older guy on a road bike a couple of weeks back heading Northbound on the M50 between Dundrum and Firhouse (which is actually a pretty long stretch with a tight hard shoulder).

Sure I saw some genius (albeit in a car) parked up with the engine running and the driver's door open yesterday on the M11 northbound just before the Loughlinstown off ramp. What was he doing? Picking blackberries!!
We're just not great at rules and regulations in this country

Not much better are the scores of people you regularly see letting their kids take a leak in the hard shoulder, less than 5 mins drive from the next exit.

I will admit once having to stop on the M8 and take a piss, less than five minutes from the next exit and less than 7 minutes from my destination.

I held it for about 100km, and thought I could make it. I was wrong. It was literally a matter of stopping or pissing myself.

My brother, who's a Guard, told me a story once of being called to the M50 (when it had grassy median) to deal with a gang of 'non-indigenous' people (including a few kids) picking the daffodils growing there to sell them in town.

A couple of years ago on the M4 before it ends as a motorway heading in the Mullingar direction, a woman and another girl who looked like her daughter went passed me in their 206 convertible. A couple of miles later I caught up with them, the were parked up against the concrete divider, on the right hand side lane, admiring the view of the lakes. A bigger idiot I don't think existed in the world that day.
