I recently bought a new kia ceed sw elite and I have an issue with the handsfree bluetooth. I cannot make calls but I can receive them and stream music through the device. I have been back to the garage three times and so far they have not been able to fix it . The phones I have tried so far are the HTC Desire, Samsung galaxyS2, Iphone 4 & Iphone 4S. I would love to know if anybody else out there has or had the same problem or if anyone has any solutions. Many thanks in advance

Is it something like you need to download your contacts to the device

That seems to be part of the problem. I cannot enter my contact details. I think myself it is a software issue with the head unit

I think it may be something to do with how your contacts are stored on the phone or something

If you dial from your phone, does it work through the Bluetooth?

When using the HTC Desire thereis no dial tone but when it is answered it comes through the head unit.

Samsung Galaxy S2 - does not come through at all.

Iphone 4 - you are given an option to use the head unit but defaults to the phone after about 2 seconds

    It has me baffled

Have they a list of approved phones? Car manufacturers can't guarantee comparability with all phones. That said, you would expect a basic connect to work with most phones.
You can sometimes download a patch to allow phone to transfer contacts etc

There's a list of approved phones alright, there's a link on the site.

And I wonder if the ops phone is on the list?
If not, they will get nowhere with Kia.

The I phone is there anyway. I'm guessing it's not a faulty radio, just lack of know how on the dealers part.

The dealer looked for the software version on my phone which I emailed to them. I am interested in downloading a patch that Mickdw mentioned. Any idea where I could download it from

Its just something I did about 4 years ago when a Nokia phone wouldn't send phone book to my Audi system. Nokia had it all there on their website. Might be something out there for your phone too.
