    Hi,

    Urgent advice needed please. Test tomorrow and I seem to have misplaced my provisional license. I had it last week but can't find it now.

    Is there any way of sitting the test tomorrow if I can't find it before then??

    In short no! You are supposed tohave licence / learner permit with you at all times while driving. Examiner will have no proof that you even have a permit. Things are very strict on the test I have even heard of tests being stopped when an engine management light came on during the test. Sorry but better get searching and best of luck if you find it. If not go down anyway but I think it will b a lost cause.

    Hi,

    without your LP you will not be allowed to do the test.

    What time are you doing the test ? If 1000 or later then no problem you can have a replacement LP by then.

    Go to your local Garda station now, report it stolen/lost, they will fill and stamp the following form:-

    Also tonight or early tomorrow AM get two passport photos taken, then be No. 1 in line outside your local motor tax office when they open at 0930 (usual opening time but do a Google for your local tax office opening hours, might be different) They will issue you a replacement licence there and then, after you have explained the situation. (Bring your "Test" letter). It will only take them 10 minutes or so. (I think the charge is €10.00)

    Thanks for the reply folks. I found it that night (well I had to make a late 4hr round trip back to my house in Dublin to get it!) and I passed the test. So all round a big relief!
