When ownership is transferred, is the sellers signature required on the reg cert or will just the new owners signature do?

Seller's sig required on the VLC, right where there's a space for it.

    Should be both.

I thought the same but another thread on here suggests that only the new owner is /required/. Is there an SI for this or is it in primary legislation? The cert is typically Oirish, requiring the new owner to print their name but not the seller, which is what made me wonder.

There is no need for the seller's sig to be legible as the seller's details are already know, if the buyer's sig isn't legible and there is no requirement for them to detail it in block capitals than deciphering the new owner's name could well prove difficult.

I think it's rather logical as opposed to being "typically Oirish" :)

The buyers details are already known from the box above it.

    My point, thank you.

For the record RoverJames, you're talking to yourself, I don't see your posts, only quotes that confirm you still have nothing of value to say. Your time would be better spent replying to someone that hasn't been here long enough to recognise your total and utter lack of clue.

If I recall correctly I knew Ardfallen BMW specialists were pulling the wool over your eyes with their bullsh1t diagnosis ;) If you had a clue yourself you would have know that.

You should actually read my posts, you might learn something.
