Quick one, have a list of items I need to get sorted on the Merc, but want to do it (if possible) over 2 months. Anyone able to sort the list into priority for me (those that will kill me first :) ). Below is the way I see it:

    Front Pads & Discs
2 Front Springs (1 is broken)
    Alternator Belt (cracked)
    Steering Linkage arm (free play)

TBH, getting the front pads and disc would be first up, but you might save money by getting the pads, discs, springs and arm done together. If it a money flow issue, then get the brakes done first and get the springs and arm done together. As for the belt, you might be able to DIY.

Springs would be the main priority, driving a car with a broken spring is looney. Pads and discs would depend on how much is left on the existing ones.

What do you mean by a cracked alternator belt?

TBH, the brakes, springs and steering arm are all of equal importance, if any of those were to fail then the results could all be equally disastrous.

If the auxiliary fails its not as much of a safety issue(although you will loose power steering). The Auxiliary belt is also a little more involved on these cars then most so possibly not DIY.

Thanks for the advice all, I'll just get it all done in one go this week.
