Just a quick question for all you car experts.

Our dvd player keeps blowing the fuse in our Nissan Primera. unfortualtely there is no other output to use and we deperately need the Dvd players ( long journey in a few days ) . Is there any other accessories out there that might combat this problem ..

    Thanks

According to the owner's manual is the correct fuse installed?

It could be that you're using a fuse with a lower rating in a higher rated socket.

Id imagine the socket is fused at 20 amps , a DVD player shouldnt blow that, try it in another car if you can, Id say its more than likely the dvd player / a cable attached

God that was a speedy reply , thanks

according to the manual the cigarette lighter is for the cigarette lighter unit only and is not recommended to supply power to any other source.. ( of course did not know this when buying the DVD players )..
Is there any way to by pass this ..

    thanks

It should be in a black box under the hood or behind the glove box.

But all the info should be in the owner's manual. On my car's manual it has drawings of the fuse box and shows the ratings of each fuse.

EDIT: Seems you figured out yourself.
EDIT2: According to a few google results, you're using the correct fuse so I suspect the problem is with the DVD player itself. Try and use it on a different car :)
