Mac with android?

My household is fairly Apple heavy - my wife and I have 4s's, there's an iMac, a MacBook Air, an iPad and Apple TV, so we're fairly deeply immersed in the Apple ecosystem.

But, I'm considering ditching my 4S for a Galaxy S3. Is anyone here using an android in conjunction with other Apple devices? I'm concerned about how it'll fit. I know you can use your iTunes music library, but can't play movies purchased via iTunes because of their DRM, and i know you can get an android app to allow the phone to use AirPlay with the apple tv.

I'm just wondering if there are any other major problems that I'm overlooking or can you pretty much get around most compatibility issues? I assume for example that photo management through iPhoto on the Mac is no problem as it'll just recognize the android as a regular external SD card etc?

I think doubletwist will let you stream audio and video to an apple tv, but I don't have first hand experience.

I'm looking at getting a nexus 7 myself so I've also been thinking along the same lines. The biggest difficulty will probably be getting replacement apps, and buying android versions of the ios apps I have.

They work very well together, I did need Windows to root my GS2 though (osx and Ubuntu would not cut it)

I rarely connect it to the laptop though, I don't have to. Lots of other ways to get content onto it that is better like Dropbox and other specific apps for music, podcasts, pictures etc.
