God i thought it was a joke. Who in there right minds thought it would be a good idea to make a sequel over 30 years later. Total recipe for disaster.

This has enormous potential for suckage.......enormous,im genuinely stunned this is happening, the title alone is annoying me,makes it sound like the follow up to a cheesy action movie *shakes head*

While I'm not generally a fan of sequels, I don't see the point in getting worked up about this sort of thing.

It'll pass without a wimper, straight to DVD fare.

Remember the sequel (prequel) to Carlito's Way?

No? Not many others do either...

    Same story here.

Don't the original creators have some sort of say about whether the film can get a sequel?

Looks like they have a contract with LaMotta (not the boards Troll - the real one!) and are trying to stop the sequel:

Good to hear, sounds like if it goes ahead it will have to at least shed the title.

MGM are fully against this too...

Hopefully they can do what the fans don't have the power to

Typical money grabbing Hollywood producers. Trying to make some money by making a sequel/Prequel. Ignore the fact it's a prequel, but if Martin Scorsese isn't involved then there shouldn't even be a prequel.
