Hey all this thread is for discussion or reports of anything rare on your radar boxes.

I picked mine uo the other day and am enjoying using it. Currently using the desktop antenna that came in the box and getting roughly 70nm out of it.

Planning to get the base antenna next week any suggestions for one are also appreciated :)
    Andy

Hi andy_ g, same as Dublinflyer i use a Radar - Rama antenna on roof. I live in West of Ireland and average coverage is 190nm - 220nm. I am not using a Radar Box but am quiet happy with the coverage.

    John.

Thanks for the replies lads. Im currently using the standard antenna that comes in the box but have the Radar rama ordered and is due in during the week into maplins.

With the current antenna mounted on a door im getting about 100nm out to as far as galway, 60nm into Wales and to the northwest of the boarder with NI.

Im looking looking forward to seeing the results with the radar rama when i pick it up :)

Can you also pick up light aircrafts flying out from weston? or pretty much anything that has a transponder?
    cheers

Pretty sure you need an advanced Transponder to show up, and the light aircraft wouldn't have this.
