Building a House in Cork - Insights on Cost?

Hello there,
This is my first post but have been a long term viewer of the site.

My husband and I have got planning to build a four bed bungalow (circa 1900 sq feet) on a site in south Cork. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a ballpark cost for building a house of this size at this time using a contractor. The design is relatively simple with the exception of the roof, which is a little more complex. We hope to start building the house next Spring.

With that amount of detail you will only get vague estimates per square foot/metre to build.

Contractors in your general area are pricing between €70 and €90 per square foot for a 'builders finish' that means no site works, no fitted kitchen, no floor coverings, no painting, etc.

Whoever designed your house should be able to give you a fairly accurate costing on the construction of it.

Hi, go back to your architect/arch technician and ask for tender drawings and a detailed specification + a Provisional BER - these items will allow you to go to several builders for a more accurate realistic price.
