What if not an S3 / One X?

Hey all, looking for new phone as the old Desire has probably had its day... well at least as I've had to give up installing apps.

Ready for new contract and just find the S3 and One X that bit too unwieldy. What about an S2 which can be got on good deals and is just about as sizeable as I'd be happy with. How does this stack up now against the latest mid range from Samsung or HTC? Pity no manufacturer has brought out a top end phone that doesn't have a huge screen.

    Appreciate any thoughts.

you'd be surprised how easy you get used to the galaxy s3 mate. in terms of size its barely bigger than the s2 - bit higher, but not really wider.its not bulky.. i had the desire also. the galaxy s3 fits easy in jeans still, and screen size is grand.
I was putting some apps on the desire about a week later for the gf who i gave it to, and was amazed at how small it is.. couldnt go back to it tbh...
battery life is great too from it. huge step up.
I didnt like the 18/24 month contracts being thrown at us is all...
If you werent going for the s3 however the s2 is still a very good option imo.
decent phone and will have dropped in price for sure.
htc as mentioned above have a huge range of phones out. they kinda go for every market. i just never have liked their cameras..desire should have been decent and wasnt. one x looks poor also even though the spec is higher than the s3. they just have something wrong, be it in software or whatever. i was out there the last night and took some photos and theyre fairly decent. in good light its a really good camera. it actually manages like. defo the same as buying a 100 euro camera you would have out, just is a phone also.
besides that hope that that new nokia phone comes out here. would love to get a hands on with it. 41Mp camera is awesome and it looks it too.
theyre also releasing the N9 i believe it is? which is gonna tout a top notch camera too, though probably windows phone 8 os.
android all the way for me, just throwing in some options.
