08 Mondeo Zetec, Crap stereo sound, ideas?

I have a 08 Mondeo Zetec with Crap stereo sound. i have no intention of replacing the stereo unit but was wondering whether speaker upgrades wud improve the sound? My last car a '04 Audi A4 had fantastic sound. Why are the fords so bad?

Those stereos are ok actually. Have you set the balance, fade, bass/treble, and the AVC correctly?

Yip, tried all that, the sound is very hollow, especially the bass .
