RTE Olympics Team

Informed sources tell me that the RTE team to provide coverage for the London Olympics will shortly be announced.

Lot's of infighting to bag the best gigs my source tells me.

Little George will be doing the Athletics and Swimming I believe with Darragh Molony and Marty Morrissey looking after the boxing.

Jimmy Magee has been dropped from the boxing coverage the smart money has it....and about time too.

Fierce competition from the "color" men and women for the various background jobs.

Cahill lost out here because of his GAA commitments and I'm told Claire McNamara is the big winner here.

Extra tight controls on expenses this year due to the drain of Gorman's extended stay in Mauritius...most personnel will be asked to fly back to Dub on a daily basis rather that being accommodated in LNN.

    Watch this space.......

I like Jimmy commentating. It won't be the same without him. Poor show RTE!

Give the football to Brian Kerr. That's the only bit I'll be watching anyway.

He was excellent at the Euros so hopefully they'll keep him on

Kathryn Davis is a dreadful track-side interviewer, if her performance on the current Euros is anything to go by. Is she in line for the post-race interviews?
