Timetables

Can anyone remember around when do the timetables go up? I'm going into 3rd year BA and since I work directly after classes, I need to know whether I can stay in my current job or if I have to find a new one quickly. The hours available in my job are very limited and I'll need as much time to get a new one if it turns out my classes this year clash with them.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks.

I think it's sometime around the end of August as far as I remember....

Ah darn, that's ages away and leaves very little time :/

It was around the beginning of August last year when it went up, although it was still subject to change until September. If you check it out now it says it is being worked on so I could be up earlier this year, just keep checking over the next few weeks.

Best thing to do is stick with the job, but start looking for something just in case. The timetables tend to stay quite similar year on year, so maybe let us know what subjects you are studying and we might be able to pass on what the timetable was like for that course last year?

You can look up the time tables for each corse on the website irrespective of if you're in that one or not so as kellief said you could look up last years time table and give yourself an idea.

Alright thanks guys. I did check last years timetables for the modules I want and they clash with work to the point where I'd have to get a new job. I'm just wondering if they change by much or at all often?
It wouldn't be much of a problem if I had to get a new job as long as I knew a bit in advance of Semester 1 starting so I had time...recession and all that!

They usually don't change really. I know English lectures are always the same times every year (seminar times tend to be different though). Usually core modules are at the same time every year, options can change.

Thanks for that. I'm doing History and Greek and Roman Civilisation as part of a double honours BA. The G+R is all mandatory, no options and it is that subject that seems to clash. The core History subjects don't clash but the optional timetables haven't been released. Looks like I'll be leaving my current job! :/

How do you check last years timetable?

Hey, I checked last years timetables by going to the relevant department and looking at the handbook (for Ancient Classics) and for History I went into 3rd year course description for each module and looked under Timetable. However, now that this years timetable review is under way, you can't access them as it just shows up an error message.
Don't know if your own departments are any different or if there's another secret way :P
