    Hi all,
Am no way a medical professional apart from very basic first aider.
Just wondering has anyone experienced or knows about how common a stroke in children under 3 years are? I suppose the stereo-type age bracket would be with over 45y.o.'s but I'm curious as to whether it can be symptomatic in toddlers and if there's any info or study on it's cause or symptoms?
    Cheers

That's a strange thing to be curious about.
Is there some reason you have this on your mind ?

Without getting into specifics, if it's caused as a result of another condition, than, yes, it's at least possible in theory.

just out of a point of conversation really. Friend of a friend's child had like an epilepsy episode a few months ago but they symptoms leading up sounded more like a stroke onset..

Quite a few I would imagine. A stroke in a 3 year would be rare, but it's not something that a child is immune from. If the child is suffering from an autoimmune disease for example, this could affect the heart valves, leading to either reduced or increase blood pressure. High blood pressure is a requisite for stroke. You can't generally have a stroke without high blood pressure.

In any case, I would take your child to a specialist just in case. Forget GP's, they're generally useless when it comes to genetic problems. A stroke in a 3 year old would indicate an underlying genetic problem to me.

*Note, I ain't a Doctor, so don't take this as professional Medical advice etc, etc.*
