My Septic Tank Pump (water pump at back of tank submersible) is tripping my Residual Current Breaker. It is a new pump so it should be OK. I have tried switching the pump on and off but it still tripping

    Any advice?

When did the tripping start? before or after the pump was installed?

If the RCD is tripping there's an earth fault somewhere. If the pump is 100% ok, i would check all junction boxes and joints its possible water may have gotten in somewhere...

    Thanks for the reply.

It started tripping two days ago after the heavy rain. I will check junction boxes and switched that are outside.

yes prob a connection at the unit assuming cable to unit is ok?

i've seen it happen on new installs-surprisingly

if the unit has a 'warning beacon' on top, it prob shouldn't be connected to house rcd

-such as the eps bison which has a board in the unit with 2 rcbos for pump and alarm circuits
