Heading to Legoland next week for a couple of days, staying 1 night in the hotel there. Anyone got any tips for maximum enjoyment, eg which rides to head to first, where to eat, what to avoid, what to do??
    Will be there midweek.
    Thanks

How did you get on? heading there on Friday with my 5 year old, haven't told him yet. hope the queues aren't too big, maybe with all the kids back in school the waits won't be so bad.

We had a great time, waterproofs are a must for the water rides:D They sell the ponchos in the shops as well as in the vending machines. Quality is better in the shop - think they are about 3.50ish?

If you are intending to buy stuff in the main shop - do it in the morning before you go into the park - you can then get them to hold it until you leave the park in the evening. The shop can get really busy in the evening.

There is a water play area - Duplo area - so if its nice, pack a suit / change of clothes and a towel.

We didn't have problems with the queues when we were there (kids were in school then).
There are water fountains around the park but can be hard to find - if you like fizzy's then its worth buying a refillable drink container about £5 then you get free refills throughout the day. Food is expensive, although after 3pm? kids eat free in some of the restaurants. We took a packed lunch with us.

Hope this helps and have a lovely time:D

    and thats an understatement!
In Windsor you have the jumbos flying low overhead on the flightpath to/ from Heathrow!!

Everything else is a trek away, which with M25traffic can take hours longer than google tells you.

As has already been said, Heathrow is the closest.

Chequer cars are a good bet for a taxi, if you get one from the rank it will cost a fortune. Alternatively phone a Windsor Taxi company, they will all collect from Heathrow and pick up from the drop off ramp. It will cost about £30, but ask for prices.

Legoland isn't cheap, but you can get two for one offers if you take the train. Google Legoland Windsor discounts. You need to register and download the form and have a valid train ticket.

You van get the train, You need the Heathrow connect (not express) And change at Hayes and slough. There is a bus from Windsor to the park. This costs £34 return but will save you £85!

You might be best to plan to overnight in or near Heathrow/Windsor for 1 or 2 nights. To get the most out of Legoland, you'd really want to be at the door for opening time at 10am. If you're dragging the kids out of bed at 4am for a 7am flight, they may not be able to get the best out of their day.

That's very good advice. I was there on Monday for the first time in two years and there are several new attractions making it a bigger place to get round.

There is a travel lodge in Windsor and for a real treat, the nee Legoland hotel looks superb.
