Upgrading groupset technical questions

    I'm thinking about upgrading from Sora triple to 105 compact on my 2011 Giant Defy 3.

    Rose bikes seem to be the cheapest but I'm a little confused about;

    1) Which front derailleur (braze-on or clamp?) to order?

    2) Do I need a new rear hub? I'm replacing the rear cassette with a 105 cassette (will my existing hub do?)

    3) Are my existing brake calipers (Tektro TK-R350) compatible with 105 STI's?

    I've attached pictures of the my existing front derailleur and front brake caliper.

    Thanks in advance!

    1. Braze
    2. No, existing hub will do
    3. They'll be fine

    1) Id imagine you have a clamp on, but you need to get the correct size, either 34.9 or 31.8.

    2. Hub will be fine.

    3.brakes will also be fine.
