Get a Hiace and spend the other 2000 on your own wages. You won't go far wrong. Or get somthing else and save up another 2000 for the repairs. Either is good, the first is sensible.:)

so youd pick a hiace over something like a transit yeah? are they all much in the same really? thing that would turn me away from a transporter or any german make would be a fear of costly repairs

I've a fair few vans, and I've had them all. Hiaces are not very glamorous, they will not win awards for driver comfort and you will get bored of it. On the flip side, you won't go bust driving them. Transits are ok if you don't mind losing days to repairs and dollars in the fixing. I learnt the hard way, the easy way is to get a Hiace and learn to like it.:)
