Learning French as an Italian speaker

    Hi all

I speak Italian and I need to get up to a good pre intermediate level of French by March for some work commitments. Only speaking, I have no writing to do as part of the job requirement but I need to be able to organise hotel rooms, train times, directions, prices etc. I speak Italian and though the languages have obvious differences, the verbs seem very similar from my first glance.

Do you think it will be possible to achieve a decent level in 9 months with my Italian background, or will it be a struggle regardless? I am very motivated and will study.

Thanks for any and all pointers:)
