Hey all, just finished my B.A. in psychology and want to take a year out from academia before I go on to pursue a masters or anything like that.
Since I don't have the money to go drinking or travelling for 12 months I was thinking I might try and pad out my C.V by doing some volunteer work would be relevant to a career in psychology.
I've already sent of an application to the Simon community and a few others but I'd appreciate any suggestions for other organisations that might be relevant. Also, anyone with any experience in the voluntary sector, is it hard to find volunteer positions, I would imagine with so many people out of work these days there are a lot looking to give back to the community/update the C.V.

The Assistant Psychologist forum might be a good place to ask. AP_Ireland at googlegroups.
