Newbie - Recommend me a bike/bike shop for Bike to Work Scheme

    Hi guys,

Bit of a newb but I'm thinking of taking advantage of this Bike to Work scheme.

My cycles normally involve a ~10km to and from work and normally it's a down hill cycle to work and an uphill battle home.

So far, my current bike is falling to pieces with things coming loose and bits and pieces just breaking off so I think it's time to invest in something for the long haul.

So my question is - Hybrid or Racer? I'm never going to be fit enough to cycle over the cycle gap or take it up as a proper hobby so to speak but if I do, I don't mind changing then, but for now, I just want something to get me in and out of work with relative reliability and comfort. I'm always going to be cycling on the roads, never on treks or up mountains.

Seeing as I'm buying from the BTWS, I'll go the full hog and spend the €1,000 budget that is available. I've got/can buy separate, any of the accessories after, with that in mind, can you guys please recommend me A) a reputable bike shop and B) a good decent bike.

    Thanks in advance

    buy a tvr! :)

i use the guys in cyclebike, find they have good customer service, and are nice to deal with.
as for what type of bike, id go for a drop bar, and dont underestimate how addictive hills can be. You will be flying over the gap in no time happy.gif
