Need some inspiration!

Due to an extremely busy college year, I have pretty much been away from my camera for the past year. It was quite a pity as only last summer I sold my Canon 1000D to get a 600D and had all sorts of plans of getting into a bit of filming and such but unfortunately I had to prioritize college work over my photography work.

Anyway, its summer once again and lately I've been getting all my photography gear back together and can't wait to go out and take pictures again! But not having taken a proper photograph for more than a year, I can't really think of what to take pictures of or where to go...

So anyone got any suggestions of where I can go around Dublin to get some inspiration and get taking pictures again?

Also when ye guys snap yer pictures, do you plan where you're going to go and what you're going to shoot in advance or do you just get out there and take pictures instinctively??

    Thanks!

one approach would be to take an unconventional shot of yours you like, and try to extract why you like it into a theme you can develop.
you will probably gain more satisfaction if you set yourself a challenge than if you go looking for 'sitters' (i don't mean that in a seated protrait sense!)

What kind of shots did you take before? If it was landscape go for some gig/event photography and visa versa. Do something out of your comfort zone and forget about taking pictures for a minute and just think about what things you want to see. If something isn't interesting to look at, 9/10 times it won't be interesting to see in a picture.

I mostly take landscape pics, did a few gigs too.
Its kinda like I find myself going to the same few spots around Dublin to take pictures of and the spots aren't interesting to me anymore. I'll either need to revisit them at a different time to get a "different look" or find new spots to take the pictures...

I guess its just me being a bit lazy too I guess. I'll be heading into the city center on Friday (after dropping off my car to get serviced), with my camera and just one lens. I should have a good few hours to kill till my car is serviced and I can pick it up again so I'll see what I can find to to pictures of in the meantime...!

Get on the Dart and spend the day getting on and off in different
stations for a wander around, plenty of scope between Greystones and
    Howth :)
