    Hi,

I have a small scratch on the glass of my Raymond Weil watch and the shop are saying it'll cost €120 to send it off to the manufacturer for repair. Does anybody know if anywhere in Dublin can do it in house for a better price. It's just a standard rectangular size.....

Do you happen to know what type of crystal is on the watch , Sapphire or Mineral ?
If the crystal is mineral you can get stuff called polywatch and get rid of the scratches yourself. Its easy to do and there are videos on youtube showing how its done. If the crystal is sapphire you may have a problem. Sapphire is very strong and polywatch won't be of help. Then it's a case of putting up with the stratch or getting the crystal changed. As for where to get it changed I'm kinda at a loss. You could maybe try eBay and see if you can source the part.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanks for that Mitch, do you know how I find out what kind of crystal it is?

It probably says on the caseback, although I would think that a Raymond Weil is almost certainly sapphire.

Watchrepairs.ie will do a crystal replacement, probably cheaper than RW, try emailing them for a quote.
