Travelling with Aca or Acca

I understand that aca is a much superior qualification to acca but I was just wondering if anybody could tell me which has more international recognition.

What I gather from the ACCA website is that the qualification may give you the opportunity to travel the world while the ACA website does not deliver that message as much.

Any thoughts would be very helpful. Thanks!

My first post on Boards and hopefully I can offer some help!

I know about this, ACA have agreements with Institutes around the world (or at least in the UK, USA, Canada and I think Oz and NZ) that you can just join them when you get there. Don't think you need to even do anything. That way you can work over there as an Aca.

My cousin is an ACA and that's what she has done, she jsut works in industry though, not in practice. I think for practice you need to sit exams.

Are you looking for work in industry abroad? Or have you done the aca yet?

Liam, I think your understanding is a small bit limited. ACA and ACCA require the same amount of effort to complete and are both highly regarded qualifications.

As for international recognition, both will travel well, CAI have a MRA with AICPA which will enable you to complete the CPAs quicker if you decide to work in the states.

In the end however, the international recognition of your qualification will be based on the experience you have gained in your career.

Here's a thought, don't buy into that superiority complex. There are pros and cons to both routes... I know of accountants of both backgrounds working internationally.
