just came across this on youtube.

although there should be plenty of genuine relics about the place they seem to have a lot of replicas and fantasy pieces.
nice to know what is on offer and a rough price guide.

The paratrooper helmet if genuine was a bargain.

I have just come back from a trip to Vilnius. I did not manage to make it to the flea market in the video clip but came across other markets. the mass produced soviet awards are very cheap, but otherwise you are unlikely to find many bargains.
I believe some stalls will add on a tourist tariff.
next time I am there I am going to explain to my Lithuanian friends what I want and what it should cost and get them to approach the stall without me around to see if they get a better price.

If anyone is interested I found a dealer who has reasonable prices, speaks English and specialises in Russian militaria.
