Laptop turns off instead of going to sleep - Windows 7

My laptop turns off when it should go to sleep.

When i close the lid it turns off instead of going to sleep (the power settings state that when the lid closes it should go to sleep)

Even when i manually choose sleep via the start button it turns off...

System is Windows 7 64 bit

    Any ideas about this problem?

    Thanks/

    Go to,

    Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options

The click on the left hand side "choose what closing the lid does".

And choose in the drop down "sleep" for everything.

I was mistaken. The problem still persists.

Just in case someone else has the same problem im letting the world know that this problem has been solved. I rang samsung, they were very helpful.

This was solved by setting all the power options to "do nothing" and then clicking save changes.. Then they got me to set the power options back to "Sleep" and the problem was solved.

Just a glitch in windows i think.
