removed the card......

    Just cancelled sky after 8 years

    Removed the card and getting message to insert the card and also if the card is inserted no channels are displayed. Attached is C4 now

    can this box not be used as free stb?

    Try sticking any card into the slot. Library card will do.

    it says there is problem with viewing card and to call sky. what am I doing wrong?

    go to ''service'' and then select ''add channels'' all free to air channels should be there if not you have to add them with frequency numbers in system set up

    What kind of box is it? If it's a HD box then get your hands on a ftv card to unlock the UK epg. Have a look on the last 10 or so pages of this thread on a way to get a free one.

    it is a hd box. not sure about the method outline and anyway i've now ftv card.
    I assumed I could just remove the card

    Usually you just hit 101 or backup and 101

    Unplug box,insert ftv card & plug the box in again,you should now have BBC1 on 101,this means you have the UK epg,now simply save the free channels as favourites.

    its not strictly a ftv card but will force the epg to revert to uk one. (so you get bbc1 on 101 etc...)

    what channel is on 141 after rebooting the box with no card in?

    what channel is on 141 when your viewing card is in (after reboot)

    I applied for a card from setanta just there - got no email confirmation yet but hopefully that sorts it out


    not at home to see what is on 141.

    I can see BBC chanels on the epg but not C4 or sky news with the card in or out if that means anything
    If I add c4 to other chanels I can view it now and next only
