How could somebody be so wrong so often? How could somebody get away with so much misdirection when there are genuine CTs (although not in areas as sexy as NWOs etc) happening out there?

The obvious conclusion - looking at the arch CT media manipulator Jones - is that he is one of THEM (or, for the benefit of other posters, AN ANTICHRIST).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,537 ✭✭✭thecommander

is that he is one of THEM

Or he's a clever snakeoil salesman. Made a few quid out his shows, dvds, lectures etc

Well, yes, of course - but surely he's still ONE OF THEM!

And there are the ones that came true. :p

And there are the ones that came true. :p
The Texas sharpshooter fallacy is a logical fallacy in which pieces of information that have no relationship to one another are called out for their similarities, and that similarity is used for claiming the existence of a pattern.[1] This fallacy is the philosophical/rhetorical application of the multiple comparisons problem in statistics, and apophenia in cognitive psychology. It is related to the clustering illusion, which refers to the tendency in human cognition to interpret patterns in randomness where none actually exist.
The name comes from a joke about a Texan who fires some shots at the side of a barn, then paints a target centered on the biggest cluster of hits and claims to be a sharpshooter.[2][3]
And that sharpshooter's name was Alex Jones...

The fallacy is characterized by a lack of specific hypothesis prior to the gathering of data

Hmmmm... sound like anyone we know?

    Well, it's only fair. :D

I suppose if you throw enough sh!t, some of it's gonna stick.

That said, he pretty much nailed 9/11.

He is about two years late on his Martial Law prediction and for WW3, I think the dogs in the streets know about that one.

Time to start digging holes and stocking up. :)

He'll be proved wrong on both of them too, as will you

NDAA is laid out and almost through congress.

    WW3 is inevitable.

where in that does it mention anything about martial law?
    WW3 is inevitable.

This is covered by the "side of barn" theory mentioned ealier.
If you are taking this prediction as a correct one then I could also predict world war 4, the death of the sun and the assasination of a world leader and I would have 100% accurate rate of predicting the future

    What a tube.

Only people worse are those who take this stuff seriously.

Jones is a windbag of the highest order it has to be said. He has an angry and confrontational style that is too grating to withstand for any length of time. He'd probably say that he is so angry and confrontational because of what he sees going on in the world as well as means to verbally shake the apathetic masses but ,really, it's a schtick that's getting old. If he really wanted to change America he'd be running for whatever political office he could get, not hawking wares from his radio show and running topics into the ground weekly.

All i can tell from that is that you don't know what martial law is.
why do you never actually speak for yourself instead of just posting links to youtube and articles?

If you are going to argue solely with the links you provide then you had better start providing better links, because none of that is mentioned in any of your links here.
It mentions detaining suspected terrorists indefinatley.
Very few people have argued that this constitutes martial law and that has been overruled.

A piece of string is twice as long from the middle to the end.

What do you mean by this exactly? In your own words please?
It sounds like your saying nothing at all because you have no response to what i said.
Do you actually have anything to say or are you just stalling until you can google something else?

Of course not, because you can't . You have no reasoning ability whatsoever. You can't even respond to a simple question. You are a hack and nothing more.

I would actually be of the same opinon, there does not seem to be one single independant opinion in RTDH posts, its just copy paste and link rinse and repeat.

    Some would call that brainwashed

they wouldn't be wrong. People like that are the worst in a CT forum. There might actually be some legitmate things to discuss here but people like that make everything seem so ridiculous and never hang around to debate or give any actual opinion or any real answer whatsoever that all CT's by association seem ridiculous.

I like the way Alex Jones hijacks various movements.
For example, a pro-gun rally in Texas, 2010

He hears 1 day before the protest takes place then arrives with a mega phone to hijack it.

He also makes a mockery of serious issues that concern people.
For example, this video was made recently by vilemonkey where Alex rants about Kony 2012 which is clearly a propaganda piece to support military deployments in Africa.

Another thing I noticed about him is his "free" publicity of hollywood entertainment.

Famous Charlie Sheen rant which led to his ABC news interview that went viral.

Claiming Prometheus is propaganda film by "The Elite"

Claiming Batman Dark Knight Rises plot leaked and claiming there's some hidden message in the film by "The Elite"

Claiming the film 'Machete' would start a race war between US and mexico

Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins, talking about his new album

Bill Cooper pointed out his fear mongering BS 12 years ago.

    Cooper makes a good point.

"People who practice this kind of broadcasting and claim to be an American patriot do nothing but discredit all of us eventually. It's wrong ..."

He notes that most of the callers allowed to speak are just spreading rumours, 99% of which turn out to be inaccurate and anyone with a credible story gets ignored.

So really what you have with Alex Jones is just the purest form of fear mongering with the endorsement of survival equipment like propur water filter.

'Patriot Pack' which is supposedly a 30-day supply of food ..IN A BUCKET!
    Or Alex Jones Enerfood

I've no problem with water filters, food storage or eating healthy ...but he's clearly taking advantage of gullible people out there and making a fortune no doubt.

I genuinely think anybody who would take him as anything more then sometimes excellent entertainment fodder would need their head examined.

The real problem with Mr Jones, is that at times he touches on things that are genuinely dodgy but his "way" completely discredits it.

I actually came across him first by accident, then used him as a starting point by actually researching the stuff he was talking about myself and drawing my own conclusions.

I watched the video at the start of this thread and any statements about finance such as bank runs or EU countries collapsing or dollar devaluation has started. Yes it was later than he said or not as bad as he said but still he was on the right track. Some of the statements he comes out with are crazy and stupid but many things he discusses are true and his guests are good. I cant stand how he gets really angry as it just makes him look crazy and wants u to tell him to shut up and hit him :P

Its called a recession, one hardly needs to be psychic to eventually predict there will be one.

Alex Jones is an evangelist for conspiracy theorists - one who makes a lot of money out of it.

Indeed. I predict a boom in about 3-5 years time. Maybe not in Ireland, but in the US certainly.

His job is to distract everybody from important issues.

He throws out vague descriptions like 'The Elite', 'The Illuminati', 'The Globalists' . . . but never gets to tell us who they are exactly apart from discussing attendees of Bilderberg meetings, Council on foreign relations and Trilateral Commission . . .basically think tanks with some shady characters.

Of course those thinktanks have influence over policy but nothing on the scale of AEI, JINSA, Ethics and Public Policy Center, Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

While he might have mentioned AEI he won't remind his listeners they're essentially a pro-Zionist thinktank with loyalty to the homeland.

BTW Jonny7, Libya looks fantastic right now. I'll bet your friend is having a laugh riot earning money as a security contractor.

I wonder are they using the Sovereign wealth fund stolen by US to pay for "rebuilding" everything they destroyed? Any word on that?

    A boom in what?

The only bubble left to inflate right now is the US treasury market, care to elaborate?

Also, aren't you forgetting that Iran has been cut off from the financial markets at the request of Pro-Zionists?

This could be the end of petro-dollar as we know it, talk about shooting themselves in the foot.

The US economy. Shares will rapidly increase in value, corporate profits will rise consistently, property prices will pick up again, economic growth will accelerate.

    You know, a boom.

By the way, how would a bubble in US treasuries manifest itself?

Yes, but what is driving this boom you predict?

Property? That's why we have a financial crisis since 2008, there has been almost 1 million home foreclosures already this year in US and it's said to get worse later in the year.

Stocks? We've had a boom in stocks since 2009, this might look like a recovery but it's illusory.

I'm not sure where the growth is going to come from next, maybe stripping resources out of Africa?

You don't need new resources for economic growth. Growth can actually reduce the use of resources.

Lmao there will be no boom in the US, they are completely broke. Interest rates will have to rise eventually and then they will have to default or they can just keep printing money and inflate the debt away.

Either way its gonna end very badly.

Yes. We can draw a straight line into infinity, extending whatever trend we see today indefinitely into the future. This is why property prices in Ireland will always rise*.
