was having this BSOD on a friends PC, but windows was so fecked anyway that I thought a simple reinstall would be the best solution anyway.

Well eventually got W7 to install, and ran intel burn test and furmark after installing all drivers etc, just to make sure all the hardware was fine. it passed 30min of this with decent temps etc. as I was closing up the programs, i got that bloody BSOD again

    bluescreenview points to:

ntoskrnl.exe as the driver to cause it :(

rebooted and now installing all windows updates. is there anything else I can do?

Sounds like a ram problem what you need to do is check how many ram dimm's u have if u have more than one take out 1 re-boot if it bsod again change with the other.

if that doesnt work ty the graphic's card.

Had this problem on a friend's laptop. Spent weeks going through .dmp files. Did a clean install, and it still persisted, so I'd second checking your RAM and Graphics card first.

Seen a few of these recently. A fresh install usually does the trick for me at least. Strange one though. I'd say its a driver/windows update issue.

Yeah i'd reccomend doing the ram first faster and less hassle then if it persist's a clean install of windows.
