Fine Gael TD for Kerry South, Brendan Griffin, has given €30,000, after tax, to Fybough National School in his South Kerry constituency, to allow it to privately employ a third teacher.

Now there's a thought. Are any of our TDs as generous? They are certainly paid well enough.

That's a lovely thing to do. Ming Flanagan gave half his wages to local causes in Roscommon!

correction---Ming gave half his salary as mayor of roscommon AFTER he had spent 6 months in the poistion. (IN REALITY THIS MEANS HE GAVE A QUARTER OF HIS SALARY TO LOCAL CAUSE AFTER HE WAS PAID IT BY THE TAXPAYER. No saving here whatsoever for the taxpayer!!)

He did this when he felt there was an election in the air, and it seems enough people fell for it!!! He sure as hell has made up for since his election as a TD!!!

Maybe Davy Cullinane and the Sinn Fein COuncillors in the City, County and Dungarvan instead of giving their money to the party and getting back a wage from it could do likewise. If they were to hand over what they get minus their wage to a school in Waterford City or County, they could take on a teacher or a special needs assistant, secretary or what ever.

He halved his mayoral salary AND his TD salary.

If you came to Roscommon, you'd see where his money went.
