What films are there to watch on youtube.
Two that ive watched recently are 'Treed Murray' and 'the three amigo's'.
treed murry was in 2 parts. both about 45 mins and the three amigos was the full film in one go.
(not sure if im allowed to post links, so
    I wont).

youtube is handy for films because you can use a mobile phone to watch them!

So what other films have you watched on youtube??

    http://www.youtube.com/movies

Lots of full films on there. Lots of crap but some good ones in the Classics section.

Folks, have a bit of cop on when posting links. High-profile recent films are not going to be legally available on youtube.

Just because a film is illegally up on youtube in no way legitimises it, and 'no piracy' rule of the charter is as relevant as ever

If he makes a feature length version of Crazy Clown Time (or anything like it), I'll be questioning whether I have just experienced a film as well.

I found a channel on YouTube that has uploaded a lot of Czech cinema except none of it is subtitled and the videos are private, you have to have a link to view them.

They had one film I've really wanted to see called The Fifth Horseman Is Fear but it's fairly obscure and I haven't been able to find it any where else even Amazon which had none in stock apart from a special 2 movie DVD which included a film called Distant Journey which is supposedly very good except it cost $119.99.

Curiously, Youtube seems to have two standards.

They clip and ban a bit of bare bum and boob on the most of
banal uploads from members yet deem to fit to allow the complete
version of Michael Winner's DEATH WISH 2 which features
one of the most graphic and protracted rape sequences in the history
    of cinema?!?!

Theres a lot of full movie clips of film noir and old 1940' 1950' movies

Today I just watched The lost weekend

Ive also found full movie clips of double indemnity, DOA, Detour,Kiss me deadly, The Killers and loads more

Just search the name of the film with full movie next to it and you should find them no problem

There's loads of charlie bronson classics on there.

i like the evil that men do where the leader of
the junta gets chopped and hacked to bits by the people he used to control.

    :)

    very stylish.

What exactly do you mean by movies? Would you be interested in shorts?

There's a load of wonderful ones out there -
Spike Jonze's "I'm Here", which features the wonderful Andrew Garfield, of Social Network and Amazing Spiderman fame.

It's also worth checking out Future Shorts, who often host extremely well made and interesting ones.

Here's a collection of their best from 2010

A personal favourite of mine is To Build a Home, which could potentially require some tissues to mop up any tears.

they have a lot of older movies like island of the lost souls and also the crow (they are allowed as the copyright has expired): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBn4RMTU9SU&list=FLDyme9y_pyz25x3vNlCQ44A&index=1&feature=plcp

I couldn't hear David Lynch there, he should step down from his high horse.

Anyway, there's a lot of public domain movie sites, here's a good one : http://publicdomainmovies.info/ - the films are hosted on YouTube so you'll be able to watch them.

I'd also recommend seeking out The Giant Claw (1957) -- it's as big as a battle ship!

He's on his high horse because he thinks watching a movie on a 3.5 inch screen might not be the best way to experience a film? Righto.

i watched a few full movies(open range and others older than 10 years) stuff I never saw before on utube recently.
Also noticed that an entire tv series of a highly profitable and recent series
is on utube (just a couple of years old)
I assume they(studios) are monitoring utube because recent movies are never on it, so is it a case they don't care about older stuff?

Whats the relationship between the Film and tv studios and youtube?
I am surprised Hollywood does not sue utube.

Oh is there somewhere where there is a list of full movies that are on it?

One of the later Jackass films is on there, remember seeing Scary Movie on it too.

I imagine the relationship between the 'film industry', an umbrella term if ever there was one, and Youtube is pretty complex. Youtube are of course owned by, and therefore backed by, Google. Google have some pretty deep pockets and influence, and would be in a better position to litigate with and broker deals with the film and music industries than most. Youtube has relented, though, to some degree by having automated content filters that seek to remove infringing content. That's a concession they've made but there's users who can get around that easily enough.

Youtube and Google could get more draconian than that if they wanted I'm sure, the power is there, but few internet services have flourished by restricting their users ever more. Google know this and don't particularly want users, even infringing ones, to hop to other services, other means which exist all over the web and the wider internet.

Somewhat of a film noir classic. Richard Conte (The Godfather) and Lee Van Cleef (The Good, The Bad and The Ugly plus tons of other westerns) are in it. T'is really entertaining and public domain.

There's a good few Charlie Chaplin films on there. I noticed 'Double Indemnity' and I think 'The Maltese Falcon'. Haven't really investigated much though.

I think the ten minute rape scene from Irreversible is on there too, why someone would want to watch that part of the film on its own is beyond me...

Oh dear god, did you really just post a link to a playlist that starts with the Van Damme Street Fighter film?! What did anyone do to deserve that? ;)

Also, that playlist has some blatantly dodgy content - given the way that google are going with Google Play (particularly its integration into Android) offering rentals of films released in the last 10 years for ~£3, it seems highly unlikely that some of the films on that playlist are there legitimately.

But, I thought this was that kind of a thread... should I take down the link?

EDIT: What's wrong with Van Damme? The guy is awesome, I grew up watching his movies, Street Fighter is awesome. I enjoy it, I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Nowt wrong with a bit of crafty Dutchman, but Street Fighter is generally acknowledged to be a dreadful load of old arse that managed the frankly astonishing feat of being even worse than both the already-pretty-shonky Mortal Kombat and the dear-god-really Double Dragon. The fact that it's much better known than the far superior Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie is the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Now, JCVD on the other hand is nothing short of magnificent. Must dig that out and rewatch it at some point soon...speaking of which, it's available on Youtube for £2.49 as a rentalhere.

Was watching A Fistful of Rupees on youtube yesterday. A western retelling of Legend of Zelda. Split into 3 parts - The Wisdom, The Power and The Courage.

I've cleaned this thread up as best I can. Please will everyone be careful not to post links to copyright infringing uploads on Youtube. Just because it's on Youtube doesn't mean it's legit.
