Just wondering if anyone can suggest a good (free) webmail application that I can install on my mail server. I have tried squirrelmail and its ok, but is there anything better out there? atmail looks nice but its not free.

I'd love something that doesn't rely heavily on a database backend like MySQL since I don't need it for anything else I use.

Has anyone got recommendations or tried Roundcube with LDAP ?

Doesn't roundcube support SQLite. You could try that instead of MySQL
