i recently was in court at beginning of may, as i'm owed money, i was awarded an amount and an order sent out to pay me. i went into the circuit court this morning and asked just for a follow up, they told me they hadn't even sent the order to the company who owed me money!! i had to go now and photocopy the order form and send it away at my own expense! why is the court like this and how what is the next step? how long should you give before i should get paid?

    thanks in advance :D

The Court is not responsible for getting you the money you are owed. They're not a debt collection service. The judgment is a judicial recognition of the debt and an order to repay it. It's up to you to follow through on that

i know that, i just don't like the fact i was told nothing, maybe it was naive of me to presume that they would, if i was told i had to do it myself then i would have no issue whatsoever, now i'm delayed by a further 6 weeks

The court is really a referee in a fight.

It is your problem to serve orders on defendants not the job of the court.

Another good reason to hire a professional to assist in legal issues?

Yes, where the person has no clue as to the processes involved.

Only for small claims does the court "take care" of it.

For all other courts, you must draft any orders that are needed and serve them as needed on those persons concerned.

So you went in somewhere not knowing what you were doing - they tired their best and gave you what advise they could even ringing another office to try and find out for you - and you are on here complaining.

I think the 'slagging off' will only get worse to be honest.

Still, I think the OP did well to get judgment or judgment in default in the CC without assistance.
