    Hi All,

Looking into booking a honeymoon and going nowhere fast. It will be in November, so this restricts us to places to go for sun. Was wondering if anyone has been to Goa at this time of year, and what it was like weather wise, for renting a car and maybe driving around in stead being in one resort all the time, nightlife as we would not like something too remote, and where you stayed. Would love some feedback if possible, Thanks in advance. ALso did you need any visas or vaccines or anything like that.

I was in Goa around the same time of year 11 years ago, so my information is not most up to date!

    1. The weather will be really nice at that time of year. I was there during chritmas/new year and we could comfortably swim in the sea every day till quite late in the afternoon and got lots of sunshine. Food is also absolutely fabulous, especially if you like sea food and/or spicy food.

    2. I wouldn't bother renting a car there, especially if you haven't travelled to India before. You will get a major major shock. Driving there is completely different than what you can imagine. Private cars with drivers (i.e. Taxis, Vans etc) are EXTREMELY cheap. I would just hire one for the day or on the spot. They know the place, know the way to drive, and can take you to places you don't even knew existed. We organised a van with a local guy when we were there. I'm sure local people will be happy to help you. Don't go with what hotel may provide you as they royally rip off westerners.

    3. Nightlife will be relatively ok, but you should be spending your nights IN on your honeymoon :-)

    4. You will need vaccination and you will need visas. Google Indian embassy in Dublin, download forms and go there a few weeks in advance. Vaccination should also be done a good few weeks in advance.

Hi, November is really the start of the tourist season your just coming off the monsoon season, the beaches mighten be the cleanest this time of year, many of the beach shacks won't be open but don't worry there's always a few open. The north of goa From vagator to candolim beach would be your best bet as this is where the majority of people holiday and the infrastructure is at it's best((don't forget it's still India;)). The weather will be great maybe a bit chilly at night so a light cardigan. There's plenty of bars and a few nightclubs up around candolim, the food is fantastic plenty of choice .....fish a bit pricey As the seas are cleaned out!!! The beer is cheap cold and always welcome.
We usually only take malaria tabs and plenty of repellent, there seems to be a big increase In rabbies last year so be careful petting that cute puppy at the beach shack.
Very easy to cheap andeasy to rent a scooter but be careful if the local police stop you, you will have to pay a back hander to get out of the fine and this could happen daily and you mightn't get stopped at all.
Use a driver to do the tours you can haggle the price and if your happy go with the one that suits you.

Can't help you with hotels as we always stay in south goa in a place called benaulim in guest houses and it would be to quiet in nov for you.

Have a look at goa trip advisor you'll get plenty of help/choice on that site.
You'll love goa it's a really lovely state.
Down load the visa app of the Indian embassy site Ireland.
Hope this helps and happy travels.
