Hey guys, just wondering can anyone recommend me some electronic style metal? Really want to hear anything gothic-esque....something like From The Cradle to Enslave (the song) COF and Engel - Rammstein, Closer NIN etc. Anything with kind of eurphoric, trippy electronica influence.
    Cheers.

'Her ghost in the fog' is even better, imo ;)

There's also a German band called 'Cryptic Wintermoon', who have some good songs.

How's about pushing in another direction with aggrotech? Dawn of Ashes here, who went on to become a 'black/melodic death metal band' and who's future releases may be a blend of both, though on Wikipedia the term 'shock rock' is being bandied about. Here's the link to a video, I won't embed it here on account that it has violent content that may be of the NSFW variety and I'm unclear on the rules in this regard on the forum.

"good electronic metal" ... surely an oxymoron no ?

No, but 'closed minded metaller' is a stereotype that is beneficial to move away from. Not saying you are, but the timbre of your post sounds biased. Check this song out and we're still in the ballpark of good electronic metal:

Paradise Lost's Host and Symbol of Life may interest you.
Dimmu Borgir and Within Temptation would probably be more symphonic metal but its worth a listen:)

This may not be what you're looking for, but how about:

Maynard James Keenan's Puscifer, it's got a nice NIN-esque feel to it I think.

Chino Moreno's Team Sleep released a gem of an album imo. It covers a wide range of genres, including lots of euphoric and trippy electronica.

Nothing to do with being a 'closed minded metaller' - just not my cuppa.

Cheers again guys. Was familiar with some of those bands esp. Dimmu Borgir and Within Temptation. I have never been a huge fan of Chino Moreno's voice it has to be said. The Maynard tune wasn't bad despite my deep dislike of the man:). Thought Paradise Lost was quite good...and the tasty blonde only sweetened the deal! Android Lust wasn't half bad either. I thought Mortiis was gonna be right on the money from the little I knew of him. However I think I might be looking for something less metal and maybe more dance/ambient? And I thought that was him?

This is not a million miles from what I am thinking about.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yopZNoRsAo - If you have not heard this, I recommend you listen at a criminally loud volume with sub woofer cranked up.

    Also viadah....."timbre"....Nice.

Industrial and the heavier, darker end of electronic music is a great place to look. While bands like Skinny Puppy and Frontline Assembly aren't really metal they've had a huge influence on band like NIN and Rammstein.

    Skinny Puppy

    Front Line Assembly

Thread is full of win! I don't understand why most metal fans don't gravitate towards electronic music. There was war that Prodigy headlined Download, but crowd rocked harder than any mosh pit I've ever seen :D

Oh, and I suggest White Zombie, Rob Zombie, Tom Morello has some cool tracks too.

Not quite gothic, but some Anaal Nathrakh songs have a bit of an electronic tint to them. May not be your cup of tea however, their music is quite harsh in the extreme.

From the 1980s this is unique. Like Nick Kershaw singing with a metal band.

    1) Heartline - cheesetastic!
    2) Anaal Nathrakh - Just checked them out - you were not kidding. Extreme indeed!
    3) Old Man's Child reminded me of Destroyer 666 for some reason. Quite like Susperia :-)
    4) Chino Morena - nah too breathy. Give me a Layne Staley wail any day!
    5) Soylent Green - not bad at all.

Nothing touches 'Remanufacture'. I personally wouldn't touch it with a ****ty stick.
