Rethreading an over tightened bolt hole

    Was tightening a caliper bolt on a mk1 focus and 1 of them wrung out (didnt even use that much force when tightening it tbh, the bolt is fine but the hole on the hub is wrung...

    Do you get this rethread or whats the handiest way sorting this out?

    Is the hole on the back of the caliper? The bolt is acting as a spacer, threaded only at the end is it? Be very careful, those bolts are holding the pads in place more or less acting as a spacer afaik.
    If you need to re-thread the hole, you can do it from the inside out, but then again the bolt might not fit. And the caliper carrier is one big piece, not something you change easily.

    The bolt that holds the caliper to the Hub,but its the hole in the hub that is stripped?
    You can get a Time-sert or a Helicoil to repair the thread.
    You can't just re-tap the hole because you'll have to go bigger with the bolt which could be problematic with the hole in the caliper.

    The hole that is wrung is actually on the hub, it wrung very easily tbh, the bolt is fine tried it in the other hole and it tightens fine, whats the best way to get around this is there a trick to rethreading these are some trick to fix?

    Just watched a video of the Helicoil being used and that looks like exactly what i need done, is that tol something all garages would have are would yuo buy yuor own and diy?

    Drill out the hole,get a longer bolt and put a locknut on the other side of it.Make sure the shank of the bolt you get is the right size for the caliper
