An Aerial/configuration Question

I'm looking at moving from SKY to Freesat/Saorview

    My current set up is

    Room 1
    Non Saorview tv
    Sky+HD box

    replace with
1 humax foxsat HD PVR to replace sky+ HD box
    1 saorview approved receiver
    1 x UHF Aerial

    Room 2
    Saorview tv
    Sky Box

    replace with
1 Triax TSC 114 to replace sky HD box..or will the Triax 112 be enough?

Do I need an aerial and receiver?

Am I right with this configuration?

Do I need to get an outdoor aerial? Or will an indoor aerial do?

Where's the cheapest place to get all these?

The dish is on the wall in the back of the yard.

    I'm in Dublin 7.

    Thanks in advance

room 2 is fine. just need to add an aerial. (unless you really really need to record stuff )

if you can see the mountains to your south then an indoor one may do.
one in the loft may be easier to access than the roof.

amazon, tvtrade, satellite.ie are a few places. JOhn from richersounds may have a deal going on the humax .

    Thanks for the reply.

Do I need an aerial for both rooms?

    This has my head melted:confused:

one aerial will do with a splitter to feed both tv's.

You can try the aerial indoors. Try the south side of the house first and upstairs window. It needs to point south towards sandyford. Then scan for channels. One aerial can be split to 2 TVs if the signal is strong enough. If it does not work inside then consider a professional outside installation unless you want to have a go youself.

Rather than running new cables to each TV, you can use the Sky cables and combine the Satellite and Saorview on the one cable. See the other threads for a diplexer.

Rather than getting the humax straight away start with an indoor TV aerial from argos. If it does not do the job bring it back within 14 days. If it works then move on to the next step.

That was my next question :D
I'm going to give the multiroom (room 2) a shot first. Its the least expensive one to start with.

    So to recap....
I have a saorview tv so i just need a Triax TSC 114 and an indoor aerial......Am I right on this one:confused:

Can anyone recommend an indoor aerial?

no, you just need an aerial.
the existing sky box will give you bbc1,2,3,4, itv1,2,3,4, ch5 etc..... Without the subscription.
