    Hi all,

I have been invited to Cardiff by some friends, and I am wondering what would be the best way for me to travel there. I am based in Waterford, but I don't think I can get a flight from anywhere only Dublin. Would I be better off to get to Dublin and get a flight, or to go on the ferry from Rosslare, and try to get the train? I was also thinking of going with Bus Eireann direct from here.

Has anyone got any travel advice they can share with me.

    Thanks in advance.

Have you thought of flight from Cork to Bristol. Bristol airports almost nearer to Cardiff than Cardiff airport, in that Bristol is mostly motorway, Cardiff is out past Barry island on minor roads. Cardiff airport is about 30 to 45 mins Bristol is just over an hour, Cardiff airport can be a nightmare during the summer.

There is a bus that does Waterford to Cardiff, it's the cork London bus if memory serves, also gets into the services in Cardiff at an ungodly hour.

Ya just checked Eurolines, it leaves Waterford bus station at 17:30 gets into Cardiff bus station at 03:30 at least your in the city centre.

    Thanks for the advice,

I never thought of going Cork/Bristol, thats one to think about, I won't be going until the October Bank Holiday I think so I will have some time to think about it

A lot of the Irish people I knew when I was living in Cardiff just flew in and out of Bristol with Ryanair. There is a bus from Bristol airport that goes to Temple Meads which is Bristol's train station. Thinks it's about £10 return. You can jump on the train to Cardiff from there. The train was cheap enough from what I remember and it took about an hour, maybe a little bit less. Aer Arann used to fly direct from Cardiff to Cork when I lived there but it wasn't the cheapest.
