What has Ireland achieved as a nation since gaining independence in 1922?

I honestly can't think of a single thing -- not one.

I'd even argue that it has gone backwards in many areas -- certainly in terms of infrastructure.

All in all Ireland has been a pretty miserable failure.

    No.

    No it hasn't.

You need to watch something like Reeling In The years or read about the past 90 years.

How could we have gone backwards in terms of infastructre over the last 90 years?

Did we have fibre lined throughout the country back then?

What about the road network we've got in place now as well?

Gas for central heating that has been brought throught out the country over the last 16 / 20 years too?

Its one thing that's quite clearly improved - (thanks to German, British, and Dutch taxpayers money), Ireland had no industrial base to speak of now it has a "post-industrial" base.

OP really you cant think of one thing that has improved since 1922, well then can I suggest instead of looking at porn on your computer all day you read up on some of the changes that have happened in this country since 1922.
