What's the right price for a used but well maintained Dawes 22" frame woman's bike with 501 tubing and 18-speed Shimano gears?

Fairly scruffy for anti-robber reasons, will post a pic tomorrow. Thanks.

Depends what condition it's in, how old it is, what wheels are on it, what all the components are on it. Post some detailed pics and someone might be able to give some idea.

Here's a picture. How old it is... not sure - I think I've had it about 8 years, maybe, and bought it from a friend who'd bought it new. (She sold it to me because it was a bit too small for her; unfortunately it's a tidge too big for me. I'm not sure what the wheels are - don't think I've changed them, but I may have, can't remember.)
I've put various bits and pieces on it - or the bike shop has - over the years. I can leave on the front-rider pannier frame and sell the buyer the front panniers, if they want. I'll take off the yoke for the Reisenthal basket I use. The back carrier is a kind I don't like because it doesn't have an elastic, so I have a serpent permanently on it to use for attaching stuff. I'll take the bells - one Japanese, one Dutch - off; they're both pretty useless as warning devices anyway.

Hm, that picture didn't work. Here's the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/61713504@N07/7459513054/in/photostream

It's a very good bike - Dawes Discovery, I think, sells for something like €400 new.

I'd put it up for about 160e and take anything over 120e.

€40 is a bit low for an operational bike. Cleaned up and advertise it as a handy commuter bike with pannier racks and you could get €150.

Hmmm, the one I'm selling on Adverts.ie is obviously a bit overpriced then:o.

    Suit 5'3" to 5'11"? !!! I'm selling mine because it's a 22" and too stretchy for me at 5'1"!

Thanks for all the help, lads. This is giving me some idea of the area. I've emailed Dawes with my frame number to ask exactly how old it is, since I can't remember offhand how long I have it. Then I'll wait to get my new-to-me 19" bike before moving on this.

Good luck with your sale @Paul_Kiernan
