Xperia Ray - bad decision to get it?

    Hi all,

Having looked at many phones recently, the Xperia Ray has caught my eye. I like the size of the phone (albeit a little narrow), I like the camera, but most of all I liked how snappy it was when I tried it out in-store. The battery life seems to be good too.

Has anyone bought this phone, or have any opinions on it? Reviews seem positive online for it. Are there disadvantages I can't see with this phone?

For a mid range phone(its from 2011) in its price range is a good buy. Having used an X8, X10, Neo V and now the XS(top of the xperia range) I'd recommend. The big plus with sony for non nerdy users is the fact that sony dont put a heavy UI on top like HTC and samsung(to a lesser extent) do, meaning old phones can keep up for longer.

The store phone probably had GB(2.3) on it, but the ray is getting/has got ICS(4.0) now, so it'll look slightly different when you update(which you should do first off).

Good to hear. I'm guilty of over-researching for things and I'm just afraid I'll miss an obvious flaw with the phone or something.

I was looking at a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 the other day in-store and the screen was horribly unresponsive around the outside. I just want to get a phone that's a good investment.

While looking in person is great and I'd recommend it, buuuut, dont put too much faith in store phones. They're often abused/out of date/not maintained etc etc, so arent representative of actual use :)

I guess, but it's an interesting way to discover how my phone may look a year down the track after I've given it lots of abuse!

Have my Ray since Christmas and I love it to bits. Really good phone! I'd recommend it.

I am a male (big hands) yet I find the Ray brilliant.

I had a HTC Desire HD previously and I live the Ray. I love it's compact size and I like camera quality and I find battery life excellent compared to the huge HTC.
