    Hi

I cancelled Sky multiroom in my kitchen. What are my options in terms of setting up access to non-subscription channels?

At the moment its only wired to the dish. I thought I would still get access to the terrestrial channels through the sky box after cancelling the subscription but this doesnt appear to be the case!

    Thanks

if you remove the card you will have the bbc/itv stations
    you wont have rte though,

you will need an aerial and saorview box to recieve rte tg4 tv3.

(unless your tv is saorview approved /capable of recieving the digital signal)

Thanks indeed John for the reply. The skybox is working now as you said. Delighted with this!

In terms of the Irish channels... The tv is a Sony Bravia KDL 20S3000 model and does have a digital tuner. It was manufactured in 2008. How can I find out whether this tuner is saorview compatible? When I switch to the digital tuner it does pick up the Irish channels in name (specifically rte1,2, tv3, tg4 only and the rte radio stations) but all I get is a blank screen and no audio. This is using a coat hanger as a mock aerial. I will need to obtain a proper aerial to pick up the signal.

Best idea is to run a cable from the subscribed Sky box to the non-subscribed TV. This will aloow you to watch whatever channel is on the main TV. Basically you need a cable from the main Sky box straight to the TV. This goes from the RF2 connector to the second TV. Then you can watch RTE etc. If you want to watch something different to main Tv you are restricted to free satellite channels.

Best Setup is called a Sky eye and means you can also change channels remotely and only has a DIY cost of 30 euro once off.

Getting radio/sound but no picture indicates that the TV is picking up the SaorView signal but is not SaorView compatible. you will need a SaorView box.
