Noticed this morning that the programme information description for Euro 2012 games now has [HD] after details of programme - is this a first ?

After a quick scan the only programmes with this denotation seem to be Euro games at present - at this stage surely more programmes are being transmitted in Native HD - but there appears to be no appetitite/attention to detail in providing information to viwers

Correction on above - noticed now that Revenge (Tuesday 26/06) and The Good Wife (Thursday 28/06) also have [HD] - hopefully the start of more detailed information

About time, why is it that RTE are so slow with catching up with the rest of the world ? It has taken nearly 12 months for this to happen, I shudder to think how long it will take to see series link on Saorview !

Series link is technically possible now but Saorview are holding it back until a proper dual tuner Saorview box is launched by the manufacturers. See other threads for details

We should be long past testing at this stage, we're four months from analogue switch off, no sign of a Saorview PVR yet, its ridiculous, at least RTE should activate series link and let us get Humax Freeview HD PVR's which hopefully will be compatible with it.

    Humax Freeview+ HD pvr - http://www.humaxdirect.co.uk/prodCat.asp?cat=stb2&page=fhd

They're not Saorview approved but reported as working with the Saorview channels. Not sure if they work with all features of Saorview such as subtitles, old text, displayed time etc.

Actual HD programming did have a HD in brackets at the end of programme info in the Saorview EPG after the official Saorview launch in May 2011, but for whatever reason it was removed after a while. Maybe its back as RTE2 HD on Sky has HD material advertised with "[HD]" in the Sky EPG?

I got a digital box in supervalu for €45 and a good HDMI for €10 it has an USB port for an external hard drive and can record in 1080p HD. TV Star are the makers and T1010 is the model number if anyone is interested. The only problem I've had so far is the programme sorting, it lists them in reverse order to the tv, for example RTE1 is channel 75. I have switched it but when it was turned off at the plug it went back to the way the box set it automatically. Still, I only use it for recording, I only bought the box for the purpose of recording and it's doing the job perfectly, except when I forget to plug in the usb...but that's my fault.

The Freeview+HD Humax pvr I linked to is a terrestrial receiver which according to posters here works with Saorview incl the recording option, your Humax pvr appears to be a satellite receiver which won't record the Saorview channels.
