Sorry for kinda reposting but I think nobody noticed my follow up as it was in a reply to my previous post!

Ok, so as requested here is my time for the 8km:

44 minutes and 20 sec or something.

I am happy with that time, had only 3 weeks training. I think I paced myself poorly though as I had to stop 3 or 4 times.

As advised here, just sipped a lucozade sport prior to starting which I have done a couple of times in training.

My next target is to do a 10km race, decent time (hopefully less than 50min if I train for it) and without stopping.

Any advice on best sites to get say an 8 week training plan? Or is there a good phone app (android) that would have this type of thing that you can set up?

    Thanks!

Well done on the 8k. Have a look at the first post in this thread:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=71559735

It's an 8 week plan for a 10k with four key sessions that you combine with easy, recovery and recovery runs. He also recommends other good workouts for 10k including tempo runs and 200/400 repeats. Don't do more than two session a week. The plan might look daunting but just adjust your own pace to the plan and it should be manageable. Unfortunately I can't help you with apps, I'm a bit behind on all that technology!
